## Greatest Common Factor Calculator

### GCF calculator

It is used to determine the greatest common factor of two numbers. It uses a simple procedure to perform the calculation making it an effective calculator. This calculator has two text fields and two controls that carry out independent functions of the calculator. The ‘Calculate’ button is used to initiate the calculation after the values have been entered in the text fields. It makes the calculator fast and reliable since you results within a single click. The ‘X’ button is used to reset the calculator by erasing all data of the previous calculation from the text fields. This calculator not only determines the Greatest common factor (GCF) but also gives the Least common multiple (LCM). The results will be displayed below the two controls in the bottom platform of the calculator.##### For example;

Determine the Greatest common factor of 5 and 8##### Solution;

You will first enter 5 and 8 in the first and second text fields respectively. Afterwards, click on the ‘Calculate’ button to initiate the conversion.The results will be displayed as;

Greatest common factor (GCF) = 1

Least common factor (LCM) = 40

The greatest common factor calculator can only determine the GCF of integer numbers and not fractions or decimals. You can also determine the greatest common factor for larger values.

##### For example;

Determine the greatest common factor of 550 and 789##### Solution;

The initial step is to enter 550 and 789 in the first and second text fields respectively. Afterwards, click on the ‘Calculate’ button to perform the calculation.The result will be displayed as;

Greatest common factor (GCF) = 1

Least common multiple (LCM) =433950

The GCF calculator can only carry out the greatest common factor of two values. If you want to perform new calculations, the ‘X’ button will be useful in resetting the calculator since it clears all the previous calculations with a single click.
