Power Calculator

The power calculator is used in the computation of the resistance, electric power, current, and voltage. There are three types of power calculator which include the Direct Current (DC), Alternating current (AC), and Energy& Power calculator.

The DC power calculator requires you to enter any two values whose figures are known. You can then click on the ‘Calculate' button which executes the conversion.

DC Power Calculation

V (V) = I (A) x R (Ω), which means that the voltage is calculated from the resistance (R) and current (I).

P (W) = V (V) x I (A) = V2 (V) / R (Ω) = I2 (A) x R (Ω) which means that the complex power (S) is computed from voltage (V) and current (I).

AC Power Calculator

It also requires you to enter two known values to get the results of other units. It computes the Impedance, Current, Voltage, and electricity (power).

AC Power Calculation

V (V) = I (A) x z (Ω) = (\I\ x \Z\) ˂ (ӨI + ӨZ), which means that the voltage in volts is computed by multiplying the current in amps by the impedance in ohms.

S (VA) = V (V) x I (A) = (\V\ x \I\) ˂ (ӨV - ӨI), which means that the complex power S in VA is calculated by multiplying the voltage in volts by the current in amps

P (W) = V (V) x I (A) x Cos ⱷ which means that the real power is computed by multiplying the voltage in volts by the current in amps by the power factor.

Q (VAR) = V (V) x I (A) x Sin ⱷ, which means that the reactive power in volt-amps reactive is computed by multiplying the sine of the complex power phase angle by the voltage times the current.

PF = \Cos ⱷ \, which means that the power factor is the absolute value of Cos ⱷ.

Energy and Power Calculator

It is used to compute the energy, period and average power. You need to enter two values in their required text fields before clicking on the ‘Calculate button.'

Calculation

P (W) = E (J) / t (S), which means that the average power in watts is computed by dividing the energy consumed by the period in seconds.
